The problem

Refugee and asylum-seeking women living in Attica face significant barriers to the labour market, particularly in tourism. Many lack the vocational skills and targeted training needed to compete for jobs, as well as access to structured employability support. Practical constraints such as limited childcare further restrict their ability to take part in training and job search, increasing the risk of unemployment and social exclusion.

The solution

The program promotes the social inclusion of refugee and asylum-seeking women through vocational training in high demand professional sectors. By combining personal empowerment, career guidance and skills development, it supports women in building confidence and self-awareness, identifying career paths aligned with their aspirations, and acquiring the vocational and technical skills needed to access sustainable employment. The action advocates for the inclusion of vulnerable women in the labour market and fosters equal access to professional growth and economic independence. It is built on two pillars: vocational training in tourism professions, specifically hotel employees and kitchen assistants, and preparation for the labour market with connection to employment opportunities in the tourism sector.
