How it Works

At the Green Academy, we believe that training is not just about teaching technical skills. Ιt’s about building confidence, resilience, and a clear pathway into meaningful employment. Our approach is structured in three interconnected phases, each one designed to prepare participants for both professional and personal growth.

  • Learn: Participants start with intensive workshops led by practitioners from the fields of hospitality, agriculture, and construction. Each training combines theory with demonstrations and case studies that highlight real-world applications of green practices. By grounding the knowledge in actual industry needs, learners are able to see from the beginning how these skills are used in day-to-day work. The Green Skills Training Thessaloniki also integrates soft skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving, ensuring that participants are not only technically capable but also confident in collaborative work environments.
  • Practice: Learning comes to life through hands-on projects, whether it is setting up a zero-waste kitchen workflow, building a small-scale urban farming system, or exploring eco-friendly construction techniques. Every participant works on tangible assignments that form part of a personal portfolio. This practical element ensures that skills are not only acquired but demonstrated in ways that employers can easily recognize and value. Beyond technical expertise, the practice phase encourages creativity and innovation, as trainees are invited to test ideas, experiment with sustainable solutions, and learn from real challenges they may encounter in the workplace.
  • Connect: Finally, the Academy bridges the gap between training and the job market. Through employer networking sessions, mock interviews, and on-the-job placements, participants meet businesses looking for new talent. Our dedicated employability team provides continuous coaching, helping each graduate to take confident next steps into sustainable employment. The connection phase is what transforms the programme into more than a training course: it becomes a gateway to opportunity. Many participants leave not only with new skills but also with a professional network and a clearer vision for their future careers in sustainability.

Partners & Support

The Green Academy is made possible through a strong collaboration between Odyssea and the Athenian Brewery, whose shared commitment to sustainability and youth empowerment forms the foundation of this programme.

  • Odyssea brings expertise in vocational training, social innovation, and employability pathways. With years of experience supporting vulnerable groups across Greece, Odyssea ensures that the Green Academy is inclusive, accessible, and tailored to real community needs.
  • Athenian Brewery provides vital support, linking the Academy with the private sector and reinforcing the importance of corporate responsibility in building a greener future. Their investment makes it possible to expand opportunities for young people in Thessaloniki and connect training outcomes directly with the labour market.

Together, these partners create more than just a training programme: they are shaping a model of collaboration where education, community, and industry come together to address both social and environmental challenges.
