Greek Language Courses
Overview
Under Action 16688 of the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the Project “Promoting the Integration of the Refugee Population into the Labour Market” is implemented by IOM in cooperation with the Ministry of Migration and Asylum.
Odyssea, in partnership with the Hellenic Open University (HOU), is one of IOM’s providers delivering 80-hour Greek Language Courses.
These courses are mandatory to enable beneficiaries to progress to the next phases of the Project: Paid Traineeship (Agriculture, Construction/Technical, Tourism, Female Dominated Occupations) and/or Vocational Training (Agriculture, Construction/Technical, Tourism, Assistance to Vulnerable Groups).
Strategic Partner
The Project targets beneficiaries of international protection (BIPs), beneficiaries of temporary protection (BTPs), third-country nationals (TCNs) legally residing in Greece, and asylum seekers aged 18 years and above. It aims to support their integration through language acquisition, professional development, and on-the-job training.

Areas across Greece where programme is being delivered
The educational program focuses on the:
Acquisition of Greek language skills
Development of intercultural competencies, with emphasis on Greek culture, European identity, and shared values
Training in sector-specific terminology for high-demand professions in Greece, including tourism, agriculture, construction/technical fields, and women’s employment
Strengthening knowledge of labor rights to facilitate successful integration into the labor market
