VET4YE

About The Project

Transforming VET for Disadvantaged Youth Empowerment and Employment is a European cooperation project that addresses one of today’s most pressing challenges: youth unemployment and the mismatch between young people’s skills and labour market needs. Across Europe, disadvantaged young people—such as migrants, refugees, Roma, and NEETs—face major barriers to education and employment, while employers struggle to find skilled workers in essential trades like carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installations. VET4YE responds to this gap by developing accredited, practice-oriented vocational courses in these high-demand sectors, including innovative digital tools, and work-based experience, where young people and VET trainers can apply skills in real settings and connect with employers.

Key Topics

  • Developing a common quality framework to align VET curricula with labour market and industry needs
  • Designing accredited vocational curricula and training materials for carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installations
  • Creating a virtual learning space with immersive digital and VR-based training tools
  • Training VET teachers in the use of innovative digital and virtual reality methodologies
  • Delivering intensive vocational training programmes for disadvantaged young people
  • Organising study visits and work-based learning activities to connect trainees with real work environments and employers

Project Outcomes

  • To improve the quality and labour-market relevance of vocational education and training across Europe.
  • To increase the employability and social inclusion of disadvantaged young people.
  • To deliver competency-based courses in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical installation aligned with labour market demand.
  • To strengthen VET systems through a shared quality framework and certification system
  • To enhance VET teachers’ digital and pedagogical skills
  • To support the transition of young people from training to employment.
