This course covers methods for effective communication. These methods help enable attendees to communicate clearly and with impact, by improving their verbal and non-verbal communication style, besides improving their interpersonal skills. Attendees shall be able to comprehend the following:

Managing time may sound easy, but the fact is, it can be quite challenging. The main challenge we all face managing our time is simply taking control of it. Nowadays we are swamped with distractions in our workplace, at home, and even from old habits that leave events, people, and circumstances controlling our time. This course will introduce several concepts and techniques to help you regain control of your time and plan for your success.
In all companies around the world, the employees’ effective management of time can yield amazing results and would notably increase productivity! The first and largest chunk of the course is “Managing Yourself.” Here we will look at our lives and analyze our current time habits. We will also learn some useful techniques and habits we can introduce into our daily rituals to more effectively control and use our time. The second part of this course will focus on how to “Manage Your Work Environment or Workplace.” Here we will learn how to handle the numerous distractions and time wasters (bandits) in our work environment. The third part will emphasize how to “Manage Your Relations.” Our relations with others have a direct impact on our time. Regaining control on that front is crucial to control our time more effectively. But, doing this without ticking someone off will be the focus in this section. We’ll look at how to be more assertive and at the same time maintain relations with others. Additionally, we will review how to delegate and how to manage stress. Proper delegation is a major tool for better managing time. And, stress can have a major impact on your ability to work effectively as well as your health.
Public Speaking & Presentation Skills

This course aims at helping you improve your public speaking and presentation skills so you can be a polished speaker and presenter. Body language, voice, and positive engagement techniques will be utilized in this course. Most importantly, you will learn how to reduce your fear of public speaking and how to build your confidence, to make the first impression, to deliver a spectacular speech, to craft a story, to develop coherent content, and to skillfully use visual aids and audience engagement tools.
Public speaking formally started about 2500 years ago in Greece and in Rome to help people participate in social events and discussions. For the ancient Greeks, they highly treasured public political involvement, where public speaking was a vital instrument. Nowadays, powerful public speaking and presentation skills truly separate leaders from the rest. In our connected and complex world, every successful individual must have the ability to communicate in order to inspire, persuade, build positive relationships and then to call people to action. Warren Buffet, the well-known billionaire investor & philanthropist was once asked, “What did you cultivate in your 20’s and 30’s so you became successful, he answered: You must be able to communicate in life and probably schools underemphasize that. If you cannot talk to people or write, you’re giving up your potential.”
This course contains four major modules. Each module will take the attendee in a journey to have an in-depth view of how to make a great speech or presentation in a professional setting. The course will cover a wide a range of subjects to gradually realize the necessary steps to transform the attendee’s mindset into getting better when making a presentation. The focus is on the techniques and habits that one should learn and the practices that need to be learned. Because the majority of business/professional presentations are not effective or often boring, we will focus on recognized techniques and world-renowned public speaking philosophies and best practices when delivering this course.
Problem Solving and Decision Making

This course briefly presents a number of creative problem-solving and decision-making techniques. Attendees will learn how to examine problems, produce solutions, and make decisions on the most suitable solutions that meet their requirements. There are four phases for problem solving: Phase 1: Define the problem, Find out your problem solving style (Self-assessment), Systematic Problem Definition (6 Basic Questions), Systematic Problem Definition (Grid), Fish Bone Diagrams / Ishikawa/ Cause and Effect diagrams. Phase 2: Find Creative Solutions using creativity tools including brainstorming, Reverse Brainstorming, SCAMMPERR, Mind Mapping, and De Bono’s six Thinking Hats. Phase 3: Evaluate and Select solution, Pro’s and Con’s, Force field analysis, Decision Matrix, Cost/Benefit Analysis, and Feasibility/Capability Analysis. Phase 4: Implement solution and create an action plan, Break solution into action steps, Prioritize actions and assign roles, and Follow-up at milestones.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to apply a four-step process to systematically solve problems and determine appropriate strategies and solutions. They will also be able to implement tools and techniques such as process control and Ishikawa (fishbone diagrams) to find out the root cause of a problem. In addition, participants will possess skills in creative problem solving such as brainstorming, Delphi, and other creative thinking techniques to generate possible solutions to a problem. Finally, they will develop an “Action Plan” to implement the chosen solutions.

Furthermore, many people still use delegation as a way to free themselves from routine and mundane activities that they hate to do or they may lack the time to do them. In this course, we will explain how delegation, when used effectively, can be a great tool to develop staff and to manage time too. About CCC’s Corporate Volunteering Program
In Support of CCC’s commitment to serve those in need, the Corporate Volunteer Program was established by the Department of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to promote the culture of volunteerism at CCC, encourage employees and their families to give back to society, and recognize the contribution they make when they help those in need.
The Program aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of countries in which CCC operates, injecting time and talents in many sectors including education, health, environmental sustainability, humanitarian aid, poverty reduction, refugees and disadvantaged people in general.
The People Behind the Project
Dr. Manar Shami
Dr. Manar Shami, PMP®, Manager of Training & Development at CCC since 2008. He has been developing and delivering hundreds of technical, project management, leadership, and commercial training programs for thousands of engineers, managers and staff at CCC and its partners. Dr. Shami provided training in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Jordan, Libya, and many other counties to support most CCC international projects. He manages the Global Education Provider Program by the Project Management Institute (PMI), USA. Dr. Shami collaborated with and led hundreds of subject matter experts from CCC and various consulting firms from around the world in various disciplines to support the training needs of mega civil and mechanical projects globally. He is internationally known public speaker, executive trainer and mentor. Dr. Shami worked as a senior Aviation Engineer at ATAC (NASA & FAA contractor) in California, a project manager at the Pacific Inc., lead consultant at the Int’l Group in the US, and later a Professor and Lecturer of Civil Engineering in various universities in the U.S. and abroad (including U.C. Berkeley, NTU Singapore, UC Cincinnati, and U. of the Pacific until he joined CCC in 2008). He is frequently invited guest speaker at various universities. He obtained his Ph.D., and two Masters Degrees from the U. of California, Berkeley, USA. He published over 40 journal papers & books; authorized U.S. OSHA Safety Trainer, & holds private pilot licenses for aircraft & motor boats. He is currently based in California in the U.S.A.
Rosie Nasser has a Master’s Degree in International Relations from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Information and Communication Studies from California State University. Her passion for social work and philanthropy motivated her to join CCC in 2018 as the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility consultant after spending 14 years as the Associate Director of the Office of Grants and Contracts at the American University of Beirut (AUB).
Ms. Nasser has more than 15 years of experience in Grants Management and Research Administration. She first worked as a project manager in a research tank (the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies), where she managed over 100 research, and social development sponsored projects, then moved to AUB to co-establish the Office of Grants and Contracts, and develop the overall strategy for pre-award and post -award functions of the office, negotiate project and grant agreements, and provide training on grant writing and proposal preparation.
As the representative of CSR at CCC Ms. Nasser develops CSR policies, implements the CSR strategy, and activities including good governance, employee welfare, social community involvement, charitable giving and employee volunteering. She has established CCC’s Corporate Volunteering Program which is currently operating in 11 countries and engaged many employees in giving back to society through volunteering.
